Hands on Classes, Demonstrations, Parties, Team Building and Private Events 

All of our public classes and demonstrations will take place during our normal business hours of 11 am–4 pm.

HANDS-ON COOKING CLASSES

All hands-on classes include an in-depth look into how to create delicious, traditional dishes that can be found nowhere else in the world, while cooking and eating a 3-course meal, admission to the museum, and a curatorial-led tour of the museum.

Pricing

Public classes start at $115 per person. Prices increase outside of business hours and on the weekends.

COOKING DEMONSTRATIONS

Watch New Orleans native Chef Dee Lavigne prepare one of the best dishes in Creole and Cajun cuisine from scratch. Ice water and local French bread included. Length - 1.5 hours. Great for all ages! The demonstration includes admission to the museum and a guided tour.

PARTIES (AGES 7 – 16)

Pizza Party

Kids get in groups and make a pizza together. They handcraft their own part of the pizza! Chopping veggies, making the dough from scratch, and eating!

Party can be up to 10 kids. Additional kids can be added at $25 per child, with a maximum of 15.

Nailed It!

In groups, kids will receive a galaxy cupcake they have to replicate with their team, including making the chocolate cupcakes from scratch and then decorating them to look like the example.

Breakfast Party

Choice of:

  • Breakfast Burritos and Fruit Salad
  • Chocolate Chip or Blueberry Pancakes, Eggs and Bacon

Creole Party

The Menu is Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya with Bananas Foster for dessert.

THE DETAILS

Every party is two hours and can either be booked 9-11 am; or 12-2 pm. You can bring whatever food you'd like to as long as you take large items like pizza boxes, sandwich trays, etc. with you. A 30-minute gap is provided for kids to open presents, snacks, whatever you'd like.

You can bring whatever drinks you want: soda, juice boxes, or alcohol for those 21+. Please no glitter or confetti, all balloons must be taken with you upon leaving. No open flames except birthday candles.

All decorations must be taken down after the party. Families can come 30 minutes before, stay 30 minutes after to clean up. A 50% deposit is required to save the date; the deposit is refundable up until one week before the event. The remainder of the balance is due 3 business days before the event date. At that point, no refunds, partial or total will be available (aka, you'll want to know exactly how many kids are coming at that point). Attendees cannot be added the day of but can replace participants that will be absent.

Kids will need to wear closed-toed shoes, bring hair ties if needed, and if they have sparkly nails they can't part with, they will be given gloves. Since we're a commercially licensed kitchen, we have to keep with these ServSafe rules to maintain our accreditation.

Please be aware that we do not offer refunds on the day of an event if there are fewer guests than anticipated. Amended invoices can be sent up to a week before your trip. If an event is canceled a week ahead of the date, we retain 50% of the total, and for any cancellations 48 hours before your tour or later, we will retain the total.
